Clothes dryers use a lot of energy. To cut costs, it’s best to use a clothesline or drying rack.

However, in winter, using a clothes dryer is sometimes necessary.

Choosing an energy-efficient heat-pump dryer is a smart way to lower your energy use.

Eligibility

To be eligible to upgrade your clothes dryer and get a discount, you must:

  • be a Victorian household or business
  • install a product with a star rating of 7 stars and a load capacity of 5kg or more that and is listed on the Greenhouse and Energy Minimum Standards register and the Essential Services Commission product register.
