The $250 Power Saving Bonus program is open for all Victorian households to help ease cost-of-living pressures and encourage households to compare offers and save money.  The current round, which opened on 24 March 2023, will close for applications on 31 August 2023.

Only one payment is available per household. Eligible households can access the $250 Bonus via the Victorian Energy Compare website or apply through a participating community organisation.

The Victorian Energy Compare website is a government-run energy comparison site that is free, independent and easy to use. While energy prices have fluctuated considerably in 2022, customers can always check that they’re on the best available energy offer at the Victorian Energy Compare website.

To be eligible for the $250 Power Saving Bonus, the following eligibility requirements apply:

  1. you must be a Victorian residential energy consumer, for example, have a residential electricity account
  2. you must be the account holder
  3. only one payment is available per household.

Eligible households can access the $250 Bonus via the Victorian Energy Compare website or apply through a participating community organisation.
