If you're in the restaurant business, you use water and a lot of it. You serve it to your guests. It gets guzzled by the ice machine, not to mention the dishwasher. It also gurgles down all your sinks at an alarming rate.

Considering this, even a small adjustment can save you money. For example, your pre-rinse spray valve is one small modification you can make right now.

The pre-rinse valve might not seem like a big change to make. But the pre-rinse valve can be your commercial kitchen's unsung hero. First, consider all the unused food and debris it blasts off your plates before loading them into the dishwasher. Now think about using an inefficient valve versus a water-efficient pre-rinse spray valve. The difference is a lot less water use and less money you spend.

What's more, under the VEU program, you can get a water-efficient pre-rinse spray valve that will do the same job but for a fraction of the cost. A water-efficient pre-rinse valve uses a tiny proportion of the water per minute as older models. Over a year, this can save you thousands of litres of water usage and, therefore, hundreds of dollars on utilities.
