Did you know the average Australian shower lasts 7 minutes? Did you also know that one of the most sold shower heads pumps out 9 litres of water per minute, and there are still shower heads out there spurting out 25 litres a minute?
If you use one of these older shower heads, 175 litres of water will gurgle down your drain in 7 minutes. But what if there are 4 people in your home doing the same (or you have teenagers)? That’s 700 litres of water a day just to wash (or even more when you add the usually elongated showering habits of your teenagers).
Water costs money, and so does heating that water
If you’re worried about the money you’re flushing down the drain, consider a shower head that offers a lower flow rate. Some send out as little as 5L per minute—and they even provide an experience comparable to, or even better than, a regular 9L/min shower head (not to mention the 25L gusher!).
Just think: you can save more than 5,000L of water per year, plus the costs of heating it, if you go from a 9L to a 7.5L shower head.
Want to stand under your hot shower for longer and know you’re not wasting water or money?
