At the VEU, we always look for ways to lower energy bills and increase household carbon savings. Recently, we announced new incentives for space heaters, coolers, and water heaters to replace gas appliances with efficient electric alternatives.

Electrifying the heating in a home is an important step towards an all-electric home. While an all-electric home might sound like the future, the future is coming soon, and can deliver energy bill and emissions savings for you.

Example upgrades you will soon be able to do, include:

  • Replacing an old gas room heater with a non-ducted reverse cycle air conditioner.
    • These systems also provide the additional benefit of cooling.
  • Replacing an old inefficient gas ducted, whole-of-house heating system with a new ducted reverse-cycle air conditioner.
    • These systems also provide the additional benefit of cooling.
  • Replacing an old electric storage water heater with a heat pump water heater.
  • Replacing an old gas storage or instant water heater with a heat pump water heater.

Keep up-to-date

New incentives to upgrade from gas to electric appliances will be introduced later in the year. We recommend regularly visiting the VEU industry latest news page for updates on these new products/activities.
