The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has published the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Specifications 2018 Version 13.0. These specifications include updates to Gas boiler and water heater activities to reduce barriers and support increased uptake.
Gas Boiler and water heater changes take effect from 19 September 2022
From 19 September 2022, changes to the product testing requirements for Part 37 - Gas Fired Steam Boiler and Part 38 - Gas fired hot water boiler or gas fired water heater will come into effect.
The changes introduce alternative compliance pathways for eligible products that will enable greater activity uptake while maintaining high efficiency standards.
In addition to demonstrating efficiency performance via BS845: Methods for Assessing thermal performance for boilers for steam, hot water and high temperature heat transfer fluids, eligible products can also demonstrate compliance through:
- European Commission Regulation (EU) 813/2013 certification
- manufacturer performance specifications (for condensing boilers only).
